Yeah, I'm with Neil here. Actually from what I know nowdays around music sites (omds) , soundclick is the choice No1 if you simply are looking for the place where you can make your mp3 tracks available and you don't want or simply can't pay for it. Also do not expect anything from soundclick in the are of promotion of your act or any major exposure there. It's just not gonna happend, (as well it is not going to happen anywhere on the internet period, unless you put some time, energy, creativity and , yes, cash into).
The best thing about soundclick free option is that it is extremly simple and instant, (no approval time, apload and it's available). And the interface is very easy to use, unlike some other sites, where it's pretty confusing or too complex. Also at soundclick your 'artist page' is very straight forward , layout it just wahat it is - tracks - d-load/stream - no complicated scripts etc...

Again, I just want to underline this one more time, guys, for all of you, who may read this...:
Paying for some on-line music distribution site to have your artist page there and post your mp3s, and not having your own site - is !NO-NO! nowdays.
I am saying this from somewhat pretty long time experience dealing with the whole issue. If you have some money to spend - then go for building and promoting your own website (with your own domain - must have!), and focus all your energy and time on your site.
Yes, I know, when you setup your own website - it is nowhere...simply nobody knows about it, no visitors no nothing.... right? - right. No sh*t, man. It's just like everything else. It takes time to get anything anywhere.
One of the foolling factors of OMD sites is that when you set-up your account there and upload your track(s) and in a day or two you already have couple of d-loads, them more....and you feel like - "Yes, baby: I'm in - My Art is Out...people are listening to my stuff!".... well, it's just an illussion really. Then you also may get into checking your stats, then checkin you positions in charts, then readin reviews, written by another 'artist' like yourself without real interest, but just because it is a nice thing to do to write a reviews of the tracks from another artist on the same mp3-site, then posting on b-board...check my new tune, some other artists may click on your mp3s and then type couple of word on b-board about it, and you are happy. Etc Etc.... and all this takes time, energy, ... you simply waste. The problem is that it is all just an illusion of "self-presentation" as an artist, it's like a game in the club or people with similar interest.
Do real thing first: Make your own presentetion as an independent artist. DIRECT from You to The Public, period. No games, here. See where you can REALLY get. <IMG SRC="

If you feel like it's too much to spend 50/70/100 bucks a year on having your own artist/music site, think again and keep in mind, that it is going to be your own 100% complete control web-site, and with some creativity and using available internet tools, you can relatively easylly pay-off you bill, but making a few bucks on advertising, selling something on-line, join some affiliate marketing program ( see for example this site for info etc: <A HREF="

This is not going to make you rich, but will simply help you to keep your presentation on-line financially balanced.

ok, then,
/later

/respects,
Mike Zee aka Dr ZEE
